Full and partial rewires, planned before the first wall is touched
A rewire is disruptive, and the best way to keep it manageable is planning. Where sockets and lights go, how cables will run and what will need making good are all talked through before work begins.
Not every house needs everything replaced. Bradley will tell you whether a partial rewire or targeted upgrades would solve the problem, or whether a full rewire is the sensible answer.

What a rewire involves
The details vary by property and construction, which is why the quote follows a look at the house.
Full rewires
Replacing the fixed wiring throughout, with a new consumer unit, and testing and certification at the end.
Partial rewires
Rewiring particular areas or circuits, such as an extension, kitchen or an upstairs floor, where the rest is in acceptable condition.
Chasing and routing
Cable routes are planned and chased in carefully, keeping disturbance as contained as the property allows.
Making good
Ask what the quote includes. Plastering and decorating are not assumed here and should be agreed at quoting.
Planning a rewire
Initial conversation
Tell Bradley about the property, age if known, and why you are considering a rewire. An EICR result is useful if you have one.
Survey
A look round to see construction, existing wiring and what you would like changed.
Free quote
Discuss the scope, what is and is not included, and the proposed approach.
Programme and work
Rooms and sequence are agreed to cope with living in or around the work, then the installation is tested.
Pricing
A fair rewire price depends on the size, construction and finish expected, so no headline figure is given here.

Things people ask first
Covering Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinckley and nearby.
How do I know if I need a rewire?
Signs include very old or damaged wiring, repeated faults or a poor EICR. An inspection is the reliable way to know.
Full or partial?
If the problems are limited to certain areas or circuits, partial may be enough. Bradley will recommend based on what he finds.
Can I stay at home during a rewire?
Sometimes, with planning. It depends on the scale and your circumstances, so discuss it in the survey.
Do you include plastering and decorating?
Making good, plastering and decorating should be agreed as part of the scope before work begins. Ask Bradley what the quote includes.
Are rewires notifiable?
Bradley is Part P registered, which covers notifying and certifying relevant domestic work.
Not sure yet? Just ask.
Tell Bradley what you have, where it is and send a photo or drawing if you can. He usually replies the same day or the next working day, and quotes are always free.
